Tina Jones

Machynlleth, Wales, United Kingdom

Tina Jones is a professional photographer based in Machynlleth.

Tina is an award-winning photographer who combines her interest in art with her photography, creating modern, natural, playful portraits of people, animals, architecture, and the Mid-Wales landscape. She is the least stuffy person you’ll ever meet and has a real knack for capturing elegant and natural photographs, even when her subjects are unused to being photographed or are perhaps a bit camera shy.

Wales has been Tina’s home for two decades but is her adopted homeland. She was raised in the US and Germany. Photography was an early passion – something she shared with her father. She worked her way up from the darkroom in high school through a couple of early apprenticeships with photographers and film makers in the US and Europe, and has had extensive additional training. She has been out on her own as a professional photographer for more than twenty years.

In her spare time, Tina follows various bands (she’s a massive Crowded House fan!), does some animal welfare work, and goes off by herself with her camera hither, dither, and yon. She lives in Machynlleth with her husband, Gareth, her lovely almost-adult daughter, Tessa, and her elderly papillon pooch, Sasha.

‘It’s the cottage below where Led Zeppelin came to stay in the very early 70’s, penning some beautiful tunes. One of the reasons I came to visit this place, and though it’s not the reason I stayed, looking at this photograph always takes me back to that fateful visit! ‘
